West Winter Food Drive
Let’s shift the dial on food insecurity out in West Auckland. Together.
Let’s shift the dial on food insecurity. Together.
The West Winter Food Drive is an emerging initiative to support hard working food banks, pantries, pātaka, and social supermarkets during the winter season where budgets are a bit tighter and times are a bit tougher.
We want to work with any organisation or church out West who can help. Maybe you are one of those organisations running a food programme and can be a distribution partner? Or maybe you are happy to sign up as a collection point?
Sign up below!
With special thanks to Visionwest who will be picking up and transporting goods between collection and distribution centres.

Distribution Organisations
This year, we’re adding a direct donation option, for those who want to contribute money rather than physical goods. Here is an up-to-date list of distribution partners to support.
Massey Community Church
A caring community church extending practical support to the community, including a 12-step based programme for “hurts habits and hang-ups” called Celebrate Recovery.
Visionwest
Wrap around support, food assistance, housing initiatives, counselling, budgeting programmes, and social supermarket.
Salvation Army Westgate
The Salvation Army helps people through budgeting advice, food and clothing assistance, life skills programmes and more.
Te Atatu Foodbank
The Te Atatū Foodbank is a community run service offering food assistance to our locals in need.
How we can help
-
Promotion
We need everyone to spread the word far and wide for people to donate approved items. This might look like sharing to your organisation’s social media platforms, or your email list, or putting a poster on your notice board.
-
Collection
We need organisations and churches to sign on as drop-off points for food items. If you have space in your building to collect boxes, this is a really easy way to help out.
-
Distribution
There is room for more distribution centres on the list. If you have an existing food donation programme running through your organisation or church and would like to help out, please get in touch!
